RACHEL LABASTIE AT THE MUSÉE DES BEAUX-ARTS IN ROUEN

off-site

As part of the Normandie Impressionniste festival, and to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of the word “impressionism”, the City of Rouen is organizing the 5th edition of “Rouen Impressionnée”, inviting 7 artists, including Rachel Labastie, to take over 7 public spaces and present a series of 7 works exploring words and the close links between art and literature. Nicolas Surlapierre, director of the MAC VAL in Vitry-sur-Seine, curated the exhibition. He has imagined this exhibition as a collection of seven short stories proposed by the seven artists. The exhibition, “Le perroquet Harelle”, opens on 13 September.

Before this, all the artists will take part in a group exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen, opening on 15 June. They will be presenting their work in the form of models, sketches, photographs, and installations.
